Mission Project TRANSFORM
David Bohan (INRAE, France) is an agricultural ecologist with interests in climate change (CC), ecosystem services (ES) and using nature based solutions (NbS) for agricultural adaptation to CC. David leads the Horizon Mission TRANSFORM project that seeks to innovate with farmers new crop rotations (sequences of crops) as NbS to CC adaptation. The project uses methods and tools that allow farmers to imagine the effects of CC, by ‘translating’ CC scenarios into predictions of future crop performance. This facilitates the co-creation (innovation) of new crop sequences that deliver key ES. TRANSFORM explores the effects of these rotations for future societal acceptability and planning for CC adaptation.
